Dementia Care That is Passionate, Professional and Person-Centered
Vista Terrace has a secure household that is specifically designed to promote independence for those needing dementia care. Here, people with Alzheimer's or related dementias have the power of choice and the ability to live a complete, dignified and fulfilled life.
More than a residential care facility, Vista Terrace’s Memory Support household buzzes with resident-centered energy. The people living here will decide what interests them throughout the day and the passionate, professional team members will partner with them to make it happen.
This household combines the benefits of the “Small House” design, our person-centered approach, and the use of the “habilitation model” that is promoted by the Massachusetts/New Hampshire chapter of the Alzheimer's Association as a best practice in dementia care.
What is the “Habilitation Model”?
The goal of the habilitation model is to promote positive emotion throughout the day, maintaining positive feelings by enabling those needing dementia care to fully use the skills and abilities that remain while successfully and discreetly supporting their needs.
Residents of Vista Terrace’s Memory Support household have the comfort of easy access to all the amenities of their own home (and more!) without any of the dangers - there are no wrong turns here. Open your door and enjoy the open living room, dining room, kitchen space. Step outside to enjoy nature in the beautiful secure courtyard. Head over to the den to relax; or participate in one of the many engaging programs.
A dedicated professional program director will ensure many opportunities for stimulation through exercise programs, current events and history discussions, artistic expression, music appreciation and plenty more. All programs are designed for the greatest benefit of those needing dementia care.
