Curtin Lecture: English - A Language of Immigration

John J. Curtin dedicated his formidable legal talents to the advancement of public interest law. He and his wife, Mary Daly Curtin, devoted their considerable passion, warmth and humor to an incredible family, their communities (North Hill, Wellesley and Cape Cod) and to his beloved Boston College. Join North Hill in honoring their memories and the institutions that benefitted from their attention at the 4th Annual Curtin Lectures on American Law:

Waves of immigrants — from Vikings in the 9th century to Mexicans entering the United States today — have influenced the English language. Artist and author Anne Nydam explores how our language reveals our culture — both in the past and today. What does English tell us about our relationship with immigration and immigrants?
