Fitness Center Classes

Cardio/Core: 45 minute class that provides you with a challenging total body workout designed to increase strength and flexibility. The class will conclude with floor work and relaxing stretches. Participants must be able to get up from the floor.


Functional Fitness: 30 minute class that provides you with exercises both standing and sitting that mimics some of the activities of daily living. This class will concentrate on both your cardiovascular system and provide you with strength training using hand weights and resistant tubes.


Gentle Yoga: A delightful way to start your day! Seated and standing stretches incorporating modified yoga positions, ending with relaxation and breathing.


Strength and Balance: 30 minute seated class consisting of strength building and balance exercises using weights, tubing and balls. The goal of this class is to improve strength, balance and flexibility. Participants of all levels of fitness are welcome!


Balance Clinic: A comprehensive balance and mobility training clinic focusing on improving all aspects of the balance system. May not be suitable for Residents with severe mobility and balance impairments. For more information speak to a Fitness Trainer.


Yoga: This 45 minute class is designed to have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities of daily living. Focus on breathing and restore the body and mind. This class is designed for all levels.


Tai Chi: This 60 minute Tai-Chi class is sometimes described as “meditation in motion” because it promotes serenity through gentle movements - connecting the mind and body. Originally developed in ancient China for self-defense, Tai-Chi evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction/balance and to help with a variety of health conditions.


Meditation: In this class you will learn the mindfulness of breathing and cultivation of loving-kindness meditation. It provides a balanced basis for the development of insight, clarity and compassion. Come as often as you like.


Zumba: The easy-to-follow program that lets you move to the beat at your own speed. It's an invigorating, community-oriented dance-fitness class that feels fresh, and most of all, exhilarating! Zumba Gold® classes provide modified, low-impact moves for active older adults.
