John and Marianne Fisher

John and Marianne Fisher

John and Marianne Fisher met in Antigua in 1964, both from the advertising industry. John was an Account Supervisor in Philadelphia and Marianne a Copywriter in New York. Westport, Connecticut became their home in 1973 where they raised their two sons, Tim and Scott. John was part of a Current Events group and so enjoyed the results, he started one at North Hill shortly after they moved here in 2018. Since then, John has been a Wing Councillor, served as Treasurer, started a Men’s Book Club and heads a very busy Program Committee.

After marriage, Marianne segued into a very active free-lance career: travel writer (Asia, Europe, South America), theater critic (Long Wharf Theatre, Yale Repertory), and publisher of a newsletter for a Connecticut security agency association. At North Hill, she dove into the Hilltop, North Hill’s resident quarterly newsletter, as a writer/editor, served on the Fitness Committee, co-founded a Book Club and enjoys being on the Library Committee.

Thanks to North Hill’s welcoming warmth, John and Marianne have felt at home since day one. They thrive on the amalgam of backgrounds, ideas and personalities that North Hill residents offer.
