North Hill in Needham Announces New CEO

Needham, MA…The Board of Trustees of North Hill Communities, Inc. announced that Board Chairman, Ted Owens will step into the role of President and CEO for the organization.  His appointment follows the resignation of current President and CEO Rob Fallon.

Mr. Owens’ affiliation with North Hill dates back to 2010, when he became a member of the Board of Advisors.  Since then he has served as Vice Chair of the Board, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and the Human Resources Committee.  He also served as interim President and CEO for North Hill from May 2017 to December 2017.

Mr. Owens has been President of Brown, Thompson & Company, LLC, a management consulting firm providing a variety of financial and administrative support services to start-up technology firms.  He will be leaving that position to work full-time at North Hill.

His background is primarily in financial management. He has served as CFO for a number of firms including two publicly traded companies; Groundwater Technology, Inc. and American Science and Engineering.

Mr. Owens also brings experience in non-profit governance from his years on the Boards of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital (Needham campus), the New England School of Acupuncture and the South Boston Neighborhood House, among others.

Mr. Owens has been active in Needham’s local town government and is currently a member of the Needham Planning Board.  He has previously served on the Finance Committee, the Board of Selectmen and a variety of other boards and study committees.

Ms. Tina Vasconcelles who is stepping up as the new Chair of the North Hill Board of Trustees said “Ted is perfectly poised to assume this role for North Hill.  As a long-time member of several non-profit boards, Ted knows how to navigate the landscape between governance and management.  We’re thrilled that he’s agreed to take this role.”

North Hill residents are very pleased with the news of this appointment.  Cynthia Kelly, President of the North Hill Resident Council said “We are grateful that because of his long term leadership at North Hill, Ted Owens has stepped into the President and CEO position; he has extensive experience in all aspects of North Hill management and was interim President and CEO for nine months prior to Rob coming on board.   North Hill’s Resident Council welcomes Ted and looks forward to working with him and having him aboard.”
