PAST EVENT Travel in Time, Mexico 250 AD to 2019 AD

Nan Hass Feldman’s delightful images will be on display in the North Hill Art Gallery beginning October, 21, 2019.
In the winter of 2018, Feldman visited the Rufino Tamayo Museum in Oaxaca, Mexico.  There she was able to view a collection of 3,000-year-old Pre-Columbian figures.  “The humanity and humor in these small clay figures was my inspiration,” she says.  She photographed them, sketched them and finally brought them to life in her signature style.  Since titles are important to her, she researched Mayan names and created a moniker for each one.

Join us to hear Nan talk about her experience in Oaxaca and to see the paintings it inspired.
