John Connelly

John Connelly joined the Board in 2025. Mr. Connelly is currently a Partner and Vice Chair of the Construction & Public Contracts Group at Hinckley Allen, a business law firm, based out of the Boston office. His practice is focused on construction, real estate and general business matters. A lifelong Needham resident and an active member of the Needham community, John has been a Needham Town Meeting Member since 1990, and he served as Chair of the Needham Permanent Public Building Committee from 1998 to 2008. He has been a member of the Needham Finance Committee since 2009, serving as Chair during two separate terms. He is a past member of the BID-Needham Board of Trustees, and he currently serves on the BID-Needham Board of Advisors.  John is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cotting School in Lexington. John is a graduate of Noble & Greenough School, Yale College and Boston College Law School. John lives in Needham with his wife Cathy Shea. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.
