Howard Rubin


Howard Rubin has served on the Board of Advisors since 2015. Mr. Rubin serves as Managing Member and the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Midwood Capital. Mr. Rubin is primarily responsible for all of the non-investment activities of the Investment Manager including fund accounting, client service and marketing and compliance. Prior to joining Midwood Capital in early 2012, Mr. Rubin was the Managing Member and Chief Operating Officer of Tara Hill Capital Management LP, a Boston-based US long/short equity hedge fund firm he helped form in 2009.

Mr. Rubin was previously the Senior Managing Partner of Boldwater Capital Management, a $300 million long/short hedge fund organization based in Boston. Before forming Boldwater in 2001, Mr. Rubin spent 17 years and was a Director and member of the Executive Committee at Standish, Ayer & Wood, Inc. (now Standish Mellon Asset Management), an investment firm with approximately $41 billion in assets under management as of July 2001.

Mr. Rubin has served on the Board of Trustees of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 2000, where he is a member of the Finance Committee and was member of the Overseer Nominating Committees for many years. He previously served as a Trustee of Hebrew College (2007-2013) where he chaired the Finance Committee from 2007 to 2011. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Advisors of The George Washington University School of Business (since 1997) and previously was a member of the Parents Campaign Philanthropy Board for a decade. He is the incoming Chair and Board Member of the Budget and Administration Committee of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies where he previously served as Co-Chair of the Major Gifts Committee. He was an original member of Congregation Or Atid of Wayland, where he previously served as President, Chair of the Finance Committee, Board Member and Co-Chair of the Building Committee (with Michael Tichnor and Steven Lebovitz).

Mr. Rubin received an MBA from Harvard Business School and holds a BBA in Finance and Accounting from The George Washington University. Mr. Rubin is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
